Vote!
A new section of the forum has recently been released. The Vote! section, in the Polices forum, allows Pirate Party members to poll and discuss specific party issues. All polls last for a week, unless otherwise stated.
To be able to vote, reply and start new polls, you need to be a Pirate Party member. To become one, post a short introduction in this thread, and you will be added by admin. At this point, it is not automated, so do not expect to be able to vote instantly. Thank you for your patience.
Introduction to Principles
The Pirate Party of the United Kingdom wants to ensure respect for citizens’ privacy rights, fundamentally reform copyright law and change to the, damaging, patent system.
Why the name?
Pirate Party is the name chosen by most, if not all, similar political parties in other countries throughout the world, most notably, the Swedish Piratpartiet, which was the original Pirate Party.
A second point to raise is that in this digital age the number of people in the United Kingdom who have shared files "illegally", and thus are branded "Pirates" by the Government and other bodies, is very large. It is easy to see that we are a party that represents a vast number of peoples issues and whose policies actively seek to benefit those people.
